Frequently Asked Questions

I’m really busy. How often do I need to practice?

It is amazing the benefits you can receive from a small amount of practice time. The key is a consistent dedicated practice.  My classes are a manageable time frame of one hour to one hour fifteen. Postural awareness off the mat for the other 11 hours of the day is of equal importance.

I’m not very flexible. Can I practice Yoga?

Inflexibility is a pre-requisite! We all start where we are. The same benefits are received whether you are touching your knees or your toes.

All postures can be modified, therefore individuals of any age group or level of ability can feel confident that they can participate fully in the process.

What kind of Yoga do you teach?

It’s not about the label or style of Yoga, but about encouraging your active participation and developing your inner perception .The moving principles I teach can be applied to any style of yoga.  My class format includes sun salutations, postural awareness, breath inquiries and a period of relaxation.

Will Yoga help me lose weight?

Yes, a regular practice helps to balance your metabolism and therefore can reduce your appetite to help you lose weight.

Can I practice Yoga if I have a medical or physical condition?

Yes, however I encourage you to seek advice from a qualified medical practitioner first. Together, we can assist you on the path to recovery. Yoga has been proven to help the following conditions: diabetes, high blood pressure, asthma, anxiety, arthritis, physical pain (i.e. lower back problems, scoliosis, kyphosis), depression, stress,  and infertility, to name a few.
